Joss Whedon will Direct The Avengers Movie

Joss Whedon is in final negotiations with Marvel Studios to direct the upcoming superhero movie The Avengers according to Deadline New York.

The film would bring together Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth, Liam’s bro), The Incredible Hulk and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

Whedon is best know for creating the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series, but he has also written for Marvel Comics, contributing issues to the Runaways series and the Astonishing X-Men.

Marvel plans to hype The Avengers movie with the release of Iron Man 2 next month and the production of Captain America and Thor upcoming.
