Julian Casablancas Releases First Solo Single

Since The Stokes’ last album First Impressions of Earth each member of The Strokes has released a solo album or worked on another project except for lead singer Julian Casablancas.

Well that has all changed. There has been a lot of talk about when Julian would release something on his own and the time has finally come. His debut album entitled Phrazes for the Young is due out in stores on October 20 and has released the first single today.

’11th Dimension’ is the first single and clearly has a Strokes influence (but that’s a given since he is the lead singer) but it generally has a more pop-y/electro/synth sound to it. Although his album is said to only have 8 tracks, it will definitely be something to look forward to considering how great this first single is.
