Kandle Osborne, an up-and-coming B.C. singer-songwriter, released her first EP a bit more than a year ago. Since most of us likely missed it, there’s a link to her bandcamp page at the bottom (be sure to check out her fantastic cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Playing With Fire”). Her lo-fi, doom-folk takes the ominous grime of a late Velvet Underground recording and blends it with the sullen-songstress sound best associated with Feist. Her video for “Small” is a short, but difficult, piece on domestic battery. The cut on her lip is as unsettling as the music.
