Kanye West Annoys Fans & Soundgarden

And it didn’t even take a Twitter rant to do so. All it took was arriving 45 minutes late to his concert as part of the Big Day Out festival last night in the U.S. Fans, who were waiting patiently in the rain for Kanye, were only given the excuse “the rain is holding up Kanye West”.

If your fans can brave the rain, so can the talent. #justsayin.

Fans replied with the ever pleasant “bulls**t” when told of the delay. West did put on a huge show when he finally arrived (complete with a set of performing ballerinas) but other performers part of the festival, namely Soundgarden, were less forgiving.

“Sounds like there’s children playing music there, retarded children, retarded as in held back. There’s no other word for it,” Chris Cornell, the Soundgarden frontman told the crowd after they heard West’s soundcheck interrupting their performance on a neighbouring stage.

However, despite being heckled and judged, West is committed to rebuilding the Big Day Out brand. This year marked the first year since the 1990s the festival didn’t sell out. He’s partnered with the team that promotes Lollapalooza and hopes to have a hand in planning a better show for Big Day Out 2013.
