Kanye West and Jay-Z can’t really be accused of not going large when it comes to their Watch The Throne collaboration. Whether it’s the album itself, the tour or the videos accompaniments, which saw they slice and dice a Maybach and reinvent the live experience.
For their Frank Ocean-assisted “No Church in the Wild,” Ye and Jay teamed up with director Romain Gavras, who knows a thing or two about controversy, being the one responsible for M.I.A.’s ginger-obliterating “Born Free” clip. This one lives up to its promise, pitting an army of angry protestors up against a team of police for an extremely violent, ugly and all-too-real battle (especially considering what’s going on in Quebec right now). Well, that’s until the lazers and random elephant show up at the end. What’s up with that?
