Everyone bow down to Katy Perry.
The Dark Horse singer was named the all-time top digital artist by the Recording Industry Association of America. Katy was honoured with the award on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
Katy has sold 72 million digital sales, which include downloads and on-demand streams. Katy’s long list of singles puts her 20 million sales more than any other artists, which includes her BFF Rihanna.
“She embodies all that makes a true global superstar: the musical talent, the extraordinary drive and genuine charisma, and an intrinsic connection with her fans. This award is a reflection of her deep commitment to those qualities and to her music, which has propelled her to this historic milestone,” said RIAA Chairman & CEO Cary Sherman.
Katy celebrated her milestone achievement by instagraming a photo with her and her award.
Katy has certainly achieved a lot in her three album career. Her first album One of the Boys went platinum while her sophomore album Teenage Dream went double platinum.Her current album Prism has already sold over a million copies. Katy is currently touring North America on her Prismatic tour and plans on stopping in Toronto for three shows next month.
