Katy Perry’s Dream clashes with Beach House

Hey, Katy Perry has announced the name of her new album! It’s called Teenage Dream and it will hit stores on August 24th. Awesome… Wait, that album title sounds familiar.
Anyone with their ear to the ground may remember an album called Teen Dream by a Baltimore-based band called Beach House. Jay-Z and Beyonce certainly do. Well, apparently the title of Katy’s new album isn’t sitting too well with Beach House.
On the band’s Twitter, they wrote about how similar the two titles are: “Can’t believe this, and not in a good way, guess we have to write a song called ‘i kiss a girl.’”
We’d love to hear it, especially if Beach House applied their hazy, pop drone to a cover of Katy’s hit. For their sake, we hope a few thousand people make the mistake of picking up Teen Dream instead of Teenage Dream… or buy both!
