Katy Perry’s mother, Mary Hudson, is shopping a tell-all book about her famous daughter to book agencies. Perry’s parents, Mary and Keith Hudson, are Evangelical minister who say their ministry has been impacted both negatively and positively since their daughter’s rise to fame.

Perry has spoken frequently about her religious upbringing, even saying that speaking in tongues was a daily reality in the Hudson house. Prior to her pop career Perry had recorded religious songs and even released a Christian album when she was only 15.

The proposal for Mary Hudson’s book states: “Amid a torrent of negative reports from tabloid magazines and entertainment shows, Mary Hudson wants to tell ‘her story’ and dispel a lot of rumors. She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career. This memoir is to set the record straight. It is not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all. It is the story of Mary Perry Hudson.”

Perry has famously spoken out about her religious beliefs, even saying that she disagreed with many of the off-colour religious jokes her famous husband, comedian Russell Brand, has told.

Hmmm. This all smells a little too Dina Lohan-ish for my liking.
