Katy Versus Dr. Luke Over Who’s Got The Better Mojo!

Katy Perry’s a huge star now. You can’t tell her what to do. Or that’s what industry-insiders close to the star have to say about her relationship with Dr. Luke. It looks like there’s some beef between the two talents, and we’re not exactly sure whose side we’re on.

Dr. Luke is one of the masterminds behind today’s biggest artists. He’s written songs for Ke$ha (We R Who We R, Your Love Is My Drug, Tik Tok), Britney Spears (Hold It Against Me, Circus) and Adam Lambert (For Your Entertainment).

The rumours floating out of tinsel-town suggest he’s outgrown Katy Perry, or that Katy Perry has outgrown him.

According to New York Magazine (Vulture) some members of Dr. Luke’s inner circle released hints about his and Katy Perry’s working relationship:

“He’s stopped the hype with her. She got tired of his records, the same familiar sound, but mostly his attitude. Katy’s a star now, and she’s not going to be told what to do.”

“He checks all of his artists. He just curses them out. He thinks he owns them because he made them.”

“A lot of people think that without Dr. Luke, Katy’s going to have a big problem. She’s not much of a songwriter or vocalist, and she’s gonna have to start from scratch. You can’t just bring in any producer to make magic. The label is really pushing her to work on another album while she’s hot.”

Of course when Dr. Luke’s people got wind of these, they issued the statement, “This is ridiculous … He wishes Katy nothing but continued success and looks forward to working with her again soon.”

So is Katy Perry striking out on her own, or can she and Dr. Luke put out one more album without killing each other? Is there even a problem at all? We’ll keep you posted!
