The Ke$ha cult is alive and well with the singer’s new video for Die Young, her debut single from Warrior, due out on December 4. The singer enters the video in a hearse and spends the next four minutes being worshiped by her scantily clad followers. A little Britney Spears’ Slave For You meets Elizabeth Olsen’s cult film Marcy Martha May Marlene, Ke$ha explains her role in the video saying “It’s about me being a cult leader at the end of the world and everybody else is kind of being scared and hiding.”
Talking to Capital FM, Ke$ha continued, saying “We are running around like wild people, making out with each other and taking over a small border town in Mexico. The federals are after us because we’re so wild!” Hm. Must have been a slow day for the police force.
Sporting a black bodysuit for her dance sequences and white lingerie and a faux fur shawl while writhing around on a dirty mattress, Ke$ha appears to have spent her time between albums ditching the glitter and hitting the dance workshops. Though the video’s animation ends up getting in the way of the elaborate set rather than adding to it, the video is fun and sexy and yes, so wild.Tweet
