Rapper Kid Cudi has recently taken to his blog to provide details on the follow-up to his debut (and one of my favourites of 09’), The Man on the Moon: The End of the Day.
The new album, The Man on the Moon: The Legend of Mr.Rager, will work as a darker continuation of his first release. Cudi blogged about the thematic aspect of the new disc, writing that “…instead of bringing you into my dreams like my first album, im bringing you into my reality.” For the record, Kid Cudi can bring me into his reality at any time. Just saying.
The rapper went on to say “the things i cant speak will be the things i write. before anything else, you’d come to the conclusion i need a shrink, a stronger drug or a mentor.” Seeing as how his first album was wrapped in insecurities, dipped in mellow beats and sprinkled with fantastical elements, I’m excited to see how much more Cudi will delve into his dark realities – but I’ll have a Spice Girls album on hand, just in case.
Look out for The Man on the Moon: The Legend of Mr.Rager in stores this August. Ratatat, Dot Da Genius and Cudder himself are producing the album.
So…are you stoked, OR are you stoked!?
