I couldn’t be more excited for King Krule’s upcoming debut EP. About a month ago, we posted his first single “The Noose of Jah City” and today we have “Portrait in Black and Blue.” The song illustrates some pretty impressive and poetic songwriting and the off-the-beat instrumentals gives it a unique flare. Archy Marshall, the man behind King Krule, said the title, “Portrait in Black and Blue,” was inspired by jazz musician, Chet Baker, who’s also one of Marshall’s musical influences.
King Krule’s self-titled EP is out on November 8 on True Panther.
