It’s actually dangerous

Glee is one of the year’s biggest entertainment stories, but that doesn’t mean everyone’s a gleek. While everyone from Lady Gaga to Madonna have given the hit show permission to use their music, Bryan Adams, Coldplay and now Kings of Leon have said no.
However, unlike Coldplay, who eventually gave in and shared their love for the show, Kings of Leon are standing by their rejection.
In an interview with the NME, frontman Caleb Followill admits that his band was asked if the show could use a Kings of Leon song. Despite the fact that “apparently everybody loves it,” Caleb says, he and his bandmates denied the request.
Caleb added that it’s not the first time they’ve turned down requests to have their music used in Hollywood. Aside from Ugly Betty, they also turned down a major motion picture featuring “an incredibly famous actor.”
“We had some people call us up wanting to know if we’d allow ‘Use Somebody’ to appear in the trailer for their next movie, and we turned them down,” he says. “Next day, they called back and tried to put us through to the star of the movie – I won’t name names, but he’s an incredibly famous actor – to let him try and convince us to agree to do it. I was like, ‘Man, don’t even waste your energy’.”Tweet
