Kings of Leon’s Jared Followill have taken some time off from the band to start a new project called Smoke & Jackal. The new band, comprised of Followill and Nick Brown of Nashville rock band Mona, will release their debut album entitled EP1 on October 16.
“Coming together just worked,” Followill says, in a recent statement. “I think it’s because we took such an easy approach to it, we didn’t bring any egos to it. We just talked about each other’s ideas, neither one of us got our feelings hurt. It just worked.”
Kings of Leon are currently working on their follow-up to 2010′s Come Around Sundown.
