The video that MuchMusic has been buzzing about for weeks is set to premiere this Thursday. The Canadian all-star charity cover of K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” will finally air this week featuring an impressive line up of Canuck celebrities including Emily Haines, Jully Black, Fefe Dobson, Hedley, Stereos and as many as 50 artists total.
During MOD Live At The Base Hedley, Jully Black and K’Naan all revealed details about the song. K’Naan said, “I wanted to take the song away from being my song to being our song. It has become an instrument for other people to use for positivity.”
Jully Black also spilled some details while in Whistler. “It was the most humbling experience,” she told VJ Jesse Giddings. “It’s a wonderful thing for our generation. We’ve seen ‘We Are The World,’ ‘Tears Are Not Enough’ and now with the ‘Wavin’ Flag’”
The video was filmed at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, which was founded by Bryan Adams. Hedley’s Jacob Hoggard, always the joker, told MOD about Bryan, “He was downstairs using the candy machine.”
