Lady Gaga announces year long media hiatus

March 15th, 2012

Lady Gaga’s upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey, airing on the OWN Network this Sunday at 9 pm, will be the singer’s last for the year. While sitting down with the talk show host in her mother’s home in New York City, where the singer still lives, Gaga said “Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time… No press, no television, if my mom calls and says, ‘Did you hear about…’ I shut it all off.”

During the interview Gaga explained that at this point she has nothing else to say to the media. Rumours have been swirling that part of her media hiatus is to give the singer a break from her relentless work schedule and spend time with her boyfriend, The Vampire Diaries actor Taylor Kinney.
