Lady Gaga stood up for a fan via twitter yesterday. The high school student from Tennessee, Cole Goforth, was sent home from school because he was wearing a T-shit that said, “I Heart Lady Gay Gay.”
Gaga came to the defense of Goforth, tweeting, “Thank u for wearing your tee-shirt proud at school, you make me so proud, at the monsterball, you are an inspiration to us all. I love you.X”
Early this morning she also tweeted from Australia, “love you cole, you just be yourself. You’re perfect the way God made you.”
Cole’s mother claimed that the school violated his right to free speech by sending him home and said that other kids who wear religious slogans or Confederate flags on their shirts aren’t sent home. The school claims that Cole’s T-shirt caused a disruption.
