Lady Gaga forced to cancel tour dates due to injury

February 13th, 2013

Lady Gaga has posted a series of tweets apologizing to fans for cancelling upcoming Born This Way Ball Tour dates. Gaga’s doctor has ordered the singer to postpone her upcoming shows in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton in order to let a joint inflammation the singer has been suffering through heal properly. Called synovitis, Gaga could cause permanent damage to her joints if she continues performing while they are inflamed.

Gaga posted the following message to her 34 million Twitter followers last night:

“There’s an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Ball. Im so sorry. I barely know what to say. I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t. To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devasted & sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry.”

A total of four shows so far have been cancelled on the tour with Gaga expected to resume her schedule after February 17.
