Did you see Lady Gaga’s BRIT Awards outfit and find yourself scared out of your mind? Well so did a Nigel Britten and his fiancé Marti, grain farmers from England. The pair was getting frustrated with how many pigeons were eating their crops before they were harvested and traditional scarecrows just weren’t cutting it. In Gaga, they saw their solution. Britten told the UK’s Daily Mail, “My fiancé Marti joked that I should make a scarecrow which looked like her. I laughed and then it occurred to me it was actually a very good idea.”

And their 7 ft Lady Gaga doppelganger has worked. The scarecrow has a giant white cloud wig made out of cotton and is dressed in a white dress similar to Gaga’s BRIT Awards red carpet look (See a picture here). Britten says it appears the pigeons have been scared off.

Britton’s crops provide grain for Hovis Breads who say they may consider transplanting the design onto other fields. “The Lady GaGa scarecrow is unusual but it’s been a great success for Nigel and it’s definitely something we’re now considering rolling out to all our British wheat farms,” Marie Davies, the marketing manager at Hovis told the Daily Mail. I wonder how the designer, Francesco Scognamiglio feels!
