Lagerfeld drops in Macy’s late August

July 22nd, 2011

If we’re able to save up some money this summer we know where we’ll be going: straight to Macy’s in the ‘States to check out Karl Lagerfeld’s capsule collection for the store! That’s right – the Chanel designer is coming out with a line of affordable separates, similar to the designer collaborations we’ve seen at H&M. Lagerfeld’s Macy’s line drops at the end of August and will be comprised of 45 different styles with prices ranging between $50-$170.

A few early sketches have just been released and judging from the pics, expect to see a lot of retro-inspired dresses and boho tops. Macy’s also says to expect “collectible” T-shirts and jackets, along with printed skirts and chic leggings. Though Lagerfeld is known for designing more classic pieces for Chanel, he says he’s excited to have a little more fun with his Macy’s collection.

“To me Macy’s is the perfect department store in the US where everybody can find what they’re looking for without ruining their budget,” he says. “That’s why I am happy to make this limited collection just for Macy’s.”

You’ll have to be quick to get your hands on the Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection though: the clothes will only be in stores for six weeks…or until the stock runs out.

Are you excited for Karl Lagerfeld’s collection for Macy’s? Is it worth a trip to the U.S. to check out? Tweet us your thoughts @trendingtheshow.
