Lauren Conrad Works In The Beauty Department

Confession time: I used to be OBSESSED with watching “The Hills!” I would stay up on Tuesday nights to catch every new episode and I was even known to spend entire weekends curled up on the couch watching Hills marathons on TV (instead of going out with my friends…lol).

I loved “The Hills” because of the juicy storylines, of course (did you know Heidi’s sister is now dating Justin Bobby?!), but also because I really looked up to Lauren Conrad. Lauren wasn’t the hottest girl in Hollywood nor was she the richest or most connected, but she always knew how to look her best and make the best out of any situation. She developed her own signature style that was chic and effortless without overdoing it, and she always carried herself with class (something that can’t be said for a lot of other reality stars…)

Since the end of “The Hills,” Lauren’s been busy writing a couple of best-selling books and re-launching a clothing line for Kohl’s. Her newest project is a website called “The Beauty Department.” The website will feature beauty tips, style tips and advice straight from Lauren herself.

“Our goal with The Beauty Department is to provide girls with a basic how-to of popular trends and styles that they can recreate themselves,” she says. While LC will be featured in a number of how-to videos and style photos, she also has a team of experts to help her with advice and content. She’s even asked her personal hairstylist and makeup artist to contribute! And the best part: you can email Lauren directly to ask her your questions and she’ll respond on the site!

The idea for this website was inspired by Lauren’s own history of beauty mishaps. “Growing up, I never really learned how to do my hair and makeup correctly,” she admits, “and the results weren’t always great.” But look at her now!
