Here’s something you should know about me… my top TV broadcasting idols are Anderson Cooper, Regis Philbin, and Oprah. And I’m one lucky duck!

First, I got to meet Anderson earlier this year, then recently I got to have a one on one (short) interview with the “hardest working man in show biz”, the man, the legend… Regis “Reeg” Philbin. I nearly fainted when I found out the news!

When you watch the interview below, you’ll find out why I was granted 5 minutes with him in the first place, but this was a dream come true! I could have talked to him for much much longer and I had so many more curiosities and questions for Regis. But here was the real kicker. Maybe he was just being nice or maybe he really saw “something” in me, but the last thing he said was “Kelly can’t live forever you know, you gotta watch out for these young ones!” Which I of course translated as, I could be the next Kelly Ripa!

It was the perfect way to close out 2011. I can only dream and hope that I’ll be able to still be on television when I’m 80 years old, like Regis. And while no one will ever compare or even come close to the way Regis remains so calm, natural, humble, and real on TV… I can try! If you’re an aspiring journalist or broadcaster I suggest reading Regis’ new book “How I Got This Way” for some inspiration and a few laughs.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to meet Mama O (Oprah)? 2012 here I come!
