Of course we think that Canada is the greatest country in the world, but we’re not alone in our love for red and white. It seems that others have caught on to our great home, seeing it for more than just hockey and timbits (those we love those as well).
Here are a few non-Canadians that have shown lots of love for our home country.
We’re starting our list with one of the biggest fans of our great country. Maybe it started back in the day when Kevin Smith attended film school in Vancouver, but it appears the writer/director/actor has always had a soft spot for us Canucks. From enjoying a delicious box of Glossettes during his travels north, to making his love of Degrassi so well known that he scored a guest spot on the series, we think hockey-loving Smith is a true, honourary Canadian.
As a host and later guest of the MMVAs, Selena Gomez has spent her fair share of time in Canada. Plus, she definitely knows her way around Stratford, ON, thanks to a certain Canadian pop star.
From filming all five parts of the Twilight series in Vancouver, to shooting films like Cosmopolis and Life in Toronto, we’re starting to think that Pattinson is picking scripts based solely on whether they shoot in the true north.
The UK singer tattooed a maple leaf on his arm during his first appearance at the MMVAs to mark his time in Canada. Three years and three MMVAs later, we can’t get rid of this guy! Geez Ed, we get it. You like us.
With one of her first televised performances ever taking place at our very own Much studios, Gaga has always showed love for Canada, even performing twice at the MMVAs.
With her fiancé, Toronto-born Suits star Patrick J. Adams shooting in his hometown, Pretty Little Liars star Troain Bellisario has made the T. Dot her unofficial second home. Bellisario pays homage to the beautiful Toronto landscape on her Instagram account, often posting pics of her time in the city.
