Letting Up Despite Great Faults are a fairly well kept secret. Rolling Stone, NPR, Exclaim! and Pitchfork have all caught on, but they’re still not sufficiently renowned to have a full loaded wikipedia page. Their new record, Untogether, will be released on October 9th. Our first listen is a track called “Visions,” which continues their signature electro-pop sound mixed with guitars sporting a characteristically British jangle (though the band is American). The guitars are notably louder and heavier, making this track even more gut-smashing. Combined with Mike Lee’s soothing lead vocals, this song is delightfully cathartic and gloriously pathetic, purging its listeners from their shared condition.
