If you’re a much hyped, heterosexual hip-hop artist, calling your album I’m Gay might not be the best way to keep that buzz going. In fact, it’s such a bold move that no one could really fan the flames of such a backlash. Lil B can tell you all about this.
After name-dropping his new album title at Coachella last week, the Based God recently told MTV News that he’s now receiving death threats.
“People been hitting me up like, ‘I’m gonna bash your head in,’ ‘you f—-t,’ ‘I’m gonna kill you,’” he said.
Lil B added that such negativity won’t get in the way of his promotion. “I’m not gonna stop and I’m not scared of anybody on earth,” he said about the Twitter backlash. “That’s why I [titled the album I'm Gay] and nobody gonna stop me.”
As for the album title itself, the rapper explained that the meaning doesn’t refer to homosexuality. “I’m very gay, but I love women. I’m not attracted to men in any way. I’ve never been attracted to a man in my life. But yes I am gay, I’m so happy,” he said. “I’m a gay, heterosexual male.”
Okay…
