Lil Wayne is facing more legal troubles just when he is about to head to the clink for a year on weapons charges.
This time he is going to have to tackle copyright infringement charges. The Royalty Network filed a $2.5 million lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court on Wednesday against the rapper and the record label Cash Money Records.
The song in question is “Mrs. Officer” which, according to the lawsuit, was produced by Darius “Deezle” Harrison who is claiming rights to the tune. Harrison is seeking all profits from the song.
“Mrs. Officer” was a big hit of off Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III. The song peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks chart.
