Lil Wayne is in protective custody

Lil Wayne has been sentenced to one year in jail. The rapper got the judge in his court case to agree to place him in protective custody while en route to prison today. TMZ is reporting that the judge ask Weezy if he’d like to make a statement before his sentencing, but the rapper just shook his head no.

Lil Wayne was then cuffed and turned towards his fans and bowed his head. It’s also being reported that Weezy has asked for special medical attention regarding his dental problems.

Lil Wayne’s mentor Birdman was present at the sentencing to say goodbye.
