After first performing the song together in public during the taping of Pink’s VH1 Storyteller’s session, the collaboration between Pink and Lily Allen on the track True Love has now hit the internet. The musical pairing between the two on a song about the pitfalls of love is a match made in radio heaven, with both Allen and Pink known for their anti-love songs.
While True Love‘s lyrics make me think that the writer should really reconsider what kind of treatment in a relationship they deem as ‘love’, the beat is poppy and catchy and will likely do extremely well on the charts if released as a single. Still, I’m having trouble getting past the message that hating your partner makes what you have true love and just enjoying the song.
The song is part of Pink’s upcoming record The Truth About Love, which is set to be released September 18. In addition to Pink’s collaboration with Lily Allen, the singer also teamed up with Eminem and Fun.’s Nate Ruess.Tweet
