Hailing from Los Angeles, Silversun Pickups is Brian Aubert, Nikki Monninger, Christopher Guanlao and Joe Lester and these guys know how to take west coast indie music to a more hard hitting place. Neck of the Woods is the third album from Silversun Pickups, and the follow up to Swoon which got them a Grammy nod for Best New Artist. I’m proud to say that Neck of the Woods will not disappoint fans as it is a full collection of dark but soft hitting indie rock goodness.

Tracks like Make Believe reminds us of heavier tracks from Blink-182 and sets a very late nineties to early noughties tone for the album and lead vocalist Brian Aubert’s cadence is reminiscent of The Smashing Pumpkins’ lead singer, Billy Corgan. Though this album won’t get you party-rocking like LMFAO, tracks like The Pit will get you grooving in no time. Overall, this album is amazing and definitely worth checking out.
