Zulu Winter is a five-piece indie group from Britain and (spoiler alert) they don’t sound like One Direction. Though none of them is named Zayn, Zulu Winter is Will Daunt (vocals & guitar), Iain Lock (bass), Dom Millard (keyboards), Henry Walton (guitar) and Guy Henderson (drums). The band got together in 2011 and have been trail blazing ever since. They’ve been getting a lot of well deserved hype from indie music blogs and from publications all over London and it is about time for them to get their due attention in North America.
Zulu Winter is the perfect blend of anthemic indie power and head bobbing body shaking. Their album, Language is their debut offering and is set to make them famous worldwide. Their album sounds great on our speakers, but we can only imagine how they sound life. Perhaps we’ll catch them when they play several venues when they tour Toronto’s NXNE Festival? Who are we kidding – we’re going to be first in line.
Best Tracks: Silver Tongue, You Deserve Better, Words That I Wield
Listen to Language on MuchMusic’s First Spin section to listen to the whole album before it drops on June 19. And if you want to hear more albums before they hit the shelves from artists like Ocasan and Walk The Moon always keep an eye out on First Spins.
