Little J Exiled For Good: Taylor Momsen off Gossip Girl

Blair Waldorf finally got her wish: Little J is exiled for good off the Upper East Side. Actress Taylor Momsen AKA Jenny Humphrey (Little J) has been put on indefinite hiatus from Gossip Girl. Why, you ask?

Well, all the show’s writers, directors, producers, and co-stars feel she’s a brat.

After being written off the show in last year’s finale (Momsen took her band The Pretty Reckless on tour), she was given a few guest spots in season four. Her full return was scheduled during November sweeps. But now it’s been reported the December 6th episode of Gossip Girl will be Taylor Momsen’s last until further notice.

Interpret that as “until she finally gets her act together and smartens up on set”.

It’s expected the hiatus will last four episodes (she has a big story arc in the second half of the season) but since it’s indefinite, there’s no guarantee.

Tim Gunn, who guest-starred in one of her recent episodes, had nasty comments about her work ethic and her abilities as an actress.

Numerous rumours of fighting on set (to the point Blake Lively was rumoured to say she was leaving the show because she couldn’t take the drama) have been reported over the last year. There were rumours of unfairness between Leighten Meester and Momsen over the use of music: the show featured Meester’s songs instead of Momsen’s.

Do you think all of these rumours were true? They wouldn’t just kick off a main character for no reason, right?

Ironically, her character’s life actually mimics her real life: Little J was a simple Brooklyn girl who became a celebrated queen of Manhattan’s social elite. This is after she alienated her entire family and friends with all the stunts she pulled to earn her crown.
