Hello all!
When one is so emersed into the coolness of the music industry (making music videos, writing and recording albums, playing sold out venues, etc) how do they step outside of that tight bubble and give back? This is where Raine Maida (frontman of Our Lady Peace) steps in with a super cool and fresh way to raise money and raise awareness for War Child.
War Child is an organization that “works with children all over the world to reduce poverty, to provide education and to defend their rights. We work tirelessly to help children whose lives have been torn apart by conflict, providing them with the means to build a brighter future.” They’re overall vision is “a world where no child knows war” and Busking for Change is another branch of the organization to help raise money and awareness. It features a number of Canadian artists, both big and small, and has them busking for change on the streets of Toronto. I caught up with fans and bands like The Artist Life, The Reason and Michou, who were involved on the special day and got their thoughts on the cause and their thoughts on the day.
Ch-Ch-Check it out!
