Toronto 25th LG Fall Fashion Week has come and gone and now I will give you my wrap up of favourite collections.
Amanada Lew Kee: Amanda is a 22 year old who is not only a friend, but a fabulous designer (she made my MMVA 2011 dress! ). Innovative and fresh, her line for spring 2012 is wearable off the runway, which is hard to say for many other designers. The models wore shiny patten black oxfords which was a nice change up from designers shoving girls in shoes that they can’t walk in. Music was mixed by Monsieur Cedric and included Dirty Projectors, Class Actress, The C90s and Phantogram. Overall the show was wonderful and fresh! Watch the show courtesy of BlogTO:
Chloe Comme Parris: Sisters Chloe and Parris Gordon are the masterminds behind Chloe Comme Parris. J’adore. The Spring 2012 collection by the girls is very wearable, pretty, feminine, chic, and while it doesn’t include anything crazy it’s still great. Perfect for my own colour palette of white, grey, navy… so really, no colour. I loved it all! Watch the show courtesy of BlogTO.
Holt Renfrew: Clothing I can’t afford, but I adore! Holt Renfrew is not a label, but a department store that likes to showcase top Canadian designer lines for next season that they will carry. I’m not sure what I enjoyed more between the clothing, the music (it was a perfect mixture of The Temper Trap, The Angels, Morningwood, Plastic Bertrand) or the humongous letters down the runway, spelling out HOLTS. Models would walk in between them as they strut the runway, but unfortunately a few models couldn’t avoid hitting their heads off the large blocks. One day I will shop in Holts. One day… Watch the show courtesy of BlogTO.
Joe Fresh: Everyone loves Joe Fresh. It’s affordable, it’s simple and it’s fashionable. I love the Joe Fresh orange and it definitely made a comeback for Spring 2012. The line very MOD and the 1960s were a huge influence. Since I love the 50s/60s/70s I was very pleased with the entire line! Of course it was fresh with bright blues, yellow, orange, and red. You will definitely catch me shopping at Joe Fresh next season when the line drops in stores. Watch some of the show on the Joe Fresh FB page.
Klaxon Howl: Whether or not you’re interested in menswear it’s always great to watch the shows for the attractive male models. This show was full of many masculine Ken dolls dressed in army green, denim and khaki. My favourite looks reminded me of characters in The Outsiders, but any man could find a piece in the collection. Boys, Boys, Boys. Watch the show courtesy of B / Plus.Tweet
