Shocking news has hit the music community today. LMFAO have announced their split, leaving their future as a duo uncertain. The nephew and uncle team announced their shuffling days were over on an Australian news outlet, with Redfoo explaining “I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years and we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.”

Redfoo explained that he and Sky Blu have begun moving in different directions, saying “I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we’re always family. He’ll always be my nephew, I’ll always be his uncle.” I maintain that the turning point was Sky Blu chopping the fro.

Redfoo is looking to continue working on solo projects, but with a definite move towards sports. Sports? Sports. The son of Motown founder Berry Gordy has been spending his days training with girlfriend and professional tennis player Victoria Azarenka, as well as working as a coach for amateur tennis player Ayaka Okuno. Redfoo has also performed on the USA Gymnastics tour and is currently working on a song for the New England Patriots Tour. I guess he wasn’t kidding about that whole ‘I work out’ thing.
