Look no further: Looking for Alaska is coming to the big screen

Fans of author John Green have one more reason to be happy today. It’s been announced that Green’s book, Looking for Alaska , is being turned in to a movie. Paramount signed filmmaker Sarah Polley to create the adaptation. Green tweeted out the news and his excitement for the new project.

Looking for Alaska is Green’s first book, and has received numerous awards. The novel follows Miles, a shy boy who moves to a boarding school in hopes of finding adventure. He is immediately pushed out of his shell when he is adopted into a new group of friends. Soon, he meets and falls for Alaska, a rebellious and troubled girl. The book is a great coming of age story and epitomizes Green’s ability to capture the young soul.

This isn’t the first John Green book to see the big screen. John recently found success with his teenage love story The Fault in Our Stars, which was a surprise hit of the summer. The movie grossed $48.2 million in its opening weekend.


Green’s other book Paper Towns is also being adapted to a movie. Clearl, he’s quickly becoming Hollywood’s go-to guy for movies.
