A little while ago my brother told me to check out a band called USS and when I heard their single Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole I was surprised by how good they sound! The duo that forms USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) is from the Toronto indie scene and have been getting major airplay on 102.1 The Edge. Their sound is unique and different from what’s out there now and it’s a good change to listen to something that’s this different. I feel that sometimes artists are afraid to experiment with different sounds, and after listening to the four tracks on their MySpace page I don’t think these guys are scared at all. All four tracks have distinct sounds which draw you in and makes you wonder what the rest of their stuff sounds like.

This duo combines the great sound of an acoustic guitar with some drum n’ bass and techno sounds that combine to produce some great tunes! All the songs listed on their MySpace page are awesome but Porno Star Trek stood out to most for me. Something about this song makes it sound like it can be a huge hit!

I watched a few videos on their Facebook page of their live shows and it seems like the energy level is unbelievable. I can only imagine how it will be when USS play Edgefest this year at Downsview Park!
