Lupe Fiasco to write a book

Having recently conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro, Lupe Fiasco is now setting his sights on publishing his first book.

The rapper will step aside from his music career to write chapters instead of rhymes. But you won’t find it under “Fiasco, Lupe” – he will be using his real name, Wasalu Muhammad Jaco.

Lupe says the move should not come as a surprise.

“I started off as a writer. You know, since I was a little kid. I’ve been telling stories and actually hip-hop has just been an extension of me telling stories. So putting it in a more traditional form as far as a book has always been a part of the plan.”
