M.I.A. saw past her previous beef with Lady Gaga and extended an olive branch over Twitter. M.I.A. tweeted, “if ur at harrods today, come visit Assange at the Ecuador embassy across the st. im there. ill bring TEA and CAKE”. Lady Gaga then actually went to visit Julian Assange, activist and founder of WikiLeaks. M.I.A. then tweeted, “@ladygaga MY MIND IS SERIOUSLY BLOWN! THNK U FOR THE VISIT! IM GLAD THAT WE CAN TURN ALL THIS BAD PRESS BEEF AROUND AND MAKE IT POSITIVE ♥☮”

Back in 2010, M.I.A. said some pretty rough stuff about Lady Gaga stating in an interview with NME, “She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music.” M.I.A. continued, “She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I fu**ing do.” Yikes. Thankfully Lady Gaga looked past the drama and was able to accept the olive branch.
