MAC announces Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj as celebrity ambassadors

MAC has announced its new celebrity ambassadors for its annual Viva Glam campaign. Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj will be featured in the 2012 campaign, replacing Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper. Martin and Minaj are currently in Miami, shooting the new MAC ads with celebrity photographer David LaChapelle.
With the release of its Viva Glam lipstick every year, MAC has had some pretty diverse spokespeople in the past in order to reflect their “all ages, all races, all sexes” mantra. Ricky is third male spokesperson after Elton John in 2001 and Boy George in 2004.
Expect to see the latest Viva Glam campaign images this fall with a full product launch in February 2012. MAC donates 100 percent of the proceeds from Viva Glam lip products to fight HIV and AIDS. So far, more than $224 million has been raised for participating charities.
