Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sell 1 million copies of Thrift Store

And it was only $0.99! The duo of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hit platinum status this week when their break out single Thrift Shop hit the one million sales mark. The ode to second-hand goods has been dominating the airwaves for months, with the Seattle-based duo making their TV debut performance of the track on New.Music.Live. on November 24, 2012.

The platinum status is an exciting milestone for the group, who were virtual unknowns in mainstream music before the release of their latest album, The Heist. Now that is f***ing awesome. Check out Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ video for Thrift Shop below.
