Madonna has made yet another ground breaking move, and not in form of a publicity stunt! Instead of staying loyal to Warner Bros Records (her label since the beginning of her career), she has decided to partner up with a concert promoting company, Live Nation Inc. (http://www.livenation.co.uk/). In the deal, Madonna will receive roughly US$120 and stock options. She will get an upfront payment of US $17.5 and advance payments for 3 albums of $50 to $60. Obviously this is a progressive deal as record labels are not able to fork over large amounts of money anymore.
Madonna’s last tour made C$238 from 60 shows, and 1.2 million ticket sales. This partnership will see her fortune grow even more. But being currently worth C$495 why does she need to constantly make business deals to increase her fortune? Is she greedy? Does she plan to give it away? Will she only tour now like those hippy bands? Does she plan to adopt an African cricket team? What do you think?
