Move over J. Lo: there’s a new American Idol judge taking over the fashion scene! Check out these pics of Steven Tyler’s rocker-inspired clothing line called “Andrew Charles.” The Aerosmith singer teamed up with designer Andy Hilfiger (aka Tommy Hilfiger’s brother) on the line, which features looks for guys and girls.
The men’s collection was inspired by Steven’s personal style, so expect to see lots of bold-patterned shirts, distressed jeans and a scarf line called “Rock Scarf.” The women’s collection was inspired by iconic songstress Stevie Nicks, and features a 70s-vibe with flowing dresses, loose blouses, tunics and tees. Steven’s daughter Chelsea will model the womenswear line.
Andy Hilfiger says it was a no brainer to work with Steven. “I grew up on Aerosmith and Steven Tyler,” he says. “I’ve always loved his music and his style.” Andy adds that he loves the idea of mixing music and fashion together and “to launch it with such an icon such as Steven is amazing.”
Long before Gaga and Timberlake, Steven Tyler was rocking the fedoras and long jackets and funky scarves as the lead singer of Aerosmith, so it’s not surprise that he inspired a clothing line. But is the line too close to his personal style? Will this be something we will actually wear or just want to admire from afar? Tweet us your thoughts @trendingtheshow.
