Miley, Charlie and more!
February 24th, 2014
In today’s installment of ‘The Internet is Awesome’, a new app has been created to give you the illusion of making out with Ryan Gosling. Again, Internet FTW. On KissingRyan.com, fans of the Gos can upload pictures of themselves enjoying a smooch from freaking Noah. It’s only February and I already have my Christmas card picture ready to go!
Since the internet has now made it possible to do the impossible, ie. make out with Ryan Gosling, we got to thinking about other celebrity inspired apps that we’d like to see.
It’s the exact same as Angry Birds, except the birds have been replaced by flying eggs aimed at the houses of Justin’s neighbors.
Again, we’re all about springboarding off existing apps. Picture Flappy Bird, but the pipes you have to avoid are paparazzi’s camera lenses. Instead of a bird, you can choose to be your favourite pap-hating star, such as Kanye West, Alec Baldwin, Kristin Stewart or Chris Martin.
Love using Shazam to find out the name of a new song you’re totally digging? The likelihood of Pharrell being involved in said song is pretty high. Phazam gives you the power to find out the name of songs that Pharrell has written, produced, performed on or tweeted that he liked. It’s a Pharrell world, and we’re living in it.
If you’ve ever used WebMD then you know that everything from ‘I have a splinter’ to ‘What to do if having a heart attack’ gives you the same results; go to the hospital. Ugh, as if we all have time to sit in the ER for eight hours for something that can easily be fixed at home.
Enter ToshMD! Hit by a car while skateboarding? Got your face stuck in a fan? Knocked yourself out while crushing a beer can on your forehead? Have no fear. Simply look up your injury on ToshMD to see whether any viral videos with the same symptoms have appeared on Tosh.0 and see how things ended up for those people. Problem solved!
Rdio is a great way to listen to music and see what your friends are listening to, which also means they can see what you’re listening to, which can be stressful. We’ve all had that moment when there is a choice between listening to the coolest new indie band versus blasting Wannabe. What we want and what looks cool do not always coincide. What if there was an app for that? Fakedio could let you choose which songs you actually want other users to see on your list and which songs you want replaced by something cooler. Rock out to Nickleback in private and let the world think you’re actually listening to Best Coast 24/7.
