Mariah Carey honoured for role in Precious

It looks like Mariah Carey has a new lease on her acting career.

The singer will receive the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 5 for her supporting role in Precious, which is also garnering a lot of Oscar buzz.

The festival recognizes Mimi’s complete transformation from “a glamorous music icon to a forthright social worker.”

But no matter how many awards she receives though, we still can’t get the nasty taste of Glitter out of our mouths. Sorry Mariah…
