Recently much of what we have heard about Mariah Carey in the media has been about her marriage to Nick Cannon, her twins, or her duties as a Jenny Craig spokesperson. But the songstress took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce that Carey is back at what we have come to love her for: her music career.

Mariah Carey revealed to her fans that she is working on an original song called “Mesmerize” for Lee Daniels’ new movie The Paperboy starring Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack. The film is set to premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. This is not the first time the diva has appeared on a film soundtrack. Carey wrote and recorded the feature song for the 1992 film Hero and sang a duet with Whitney Houston for 1998′s The Prince of Egypt. Carey has yet to mention when fans will be able to hear the song but wrote that she “hope[s] to play it for you very soon!”
