Mariah Carey wants to be the only female judge on American Idol

We reported yesterday that rapper Nicki Minaj is now in the running to become a new judge on American Idol, but newly signed cast member Mariah Carey doesn’t seem pleased about this. According to TMZ, the pop star diva was led to believe that she would be the only female judge on the panel in the upcoming season of the reality TV show and even hung up the phone when told that Minaj might be joining the show.

Show execs are still working out the judges panel. The status of judge Randy Jackson is still unclear as he might return as a judge or a mentor to contestants. If two female judges make up the panel, there might be a potential of two male judges being added to the show, making it four judges instead of the show’s usual three.

Currently in the running for American Idol‘s judges panel are Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias, among the fifty other we’ve reported all summer…
