Matt Wells: Michael Jackson’s Return To The Stage

So Michael Jackson is apparently hitting the stage for his first real tour in like 10 years. Now it’s very true, nobody has made it easier for us to make a Michael Jackson joke than MJ himself; I get it- he’s weird. I also can only hope (not for MJ’s sake but for the sake of any children potentially affected) that any and all accusations of Mike mistreating kids are absolutely false. THAT being said…

Michael Jackson has influenced every pop and R&B singer you are listening to today, there is no need for me to list them because the list includes ALL OF THEM. So he wears a mask, hangs his kids over the balcony for photographers, has a pet monkey and has plastic surgery for breakfast – big deal. Van Gogh cut off part of his ear with a razor, wrapped it in a newspaper and gave it to a prostitute….but you’d still hang a Van Gogh in your living room if you could get your hands on one, right? MJ is a musical genius and music needs one of those right now. MJ back on stage is a good thing.
