So the Grammys are around the corner, this coming Sunday. While award shows have lost their luster because stars have became all that much more accessible, the Grammys should be pretty good this Year. I mean, with the Golden Globes being cancelled and the Oscars still up in the air I pretty sure the stars will be out in full force.

I’m personally not a big fan of awards shows - the highlights are usually just as good as the show and they take up a fraction of the time! For a lot of people, I feel like reality television has taken the glamour out of being a ’star’ because we all know with the right team and pro-tools anything is possible …

Anyway that’s beside the point. I think it’s pretty dope that this coming Sunday Tone Mason, one of Toronto’s finest, are finally getting the recognition they deserve by being nominated for a Grammy - although most are focused on Feist, and no doubt she’s earned it - but so have these gentlemen. I mean they’ve been producing hits south of the border for some time under the name of other more reputable partners … I’ll never forget when Talib was here at Much and I asked him about Tone Mason and he didn’t even know that TM had produced a track on his album??? Well hopefully after the Grammys they can go down south on the strength of their own name!!

Tone Mason produced ‘Hood Boy’ for Fantasia and she’s nominated for a couple of Grammys.

P.S. I wish Kanye all the best his dope is dope … but wouldn’t a rant be great!
