It’s been a while since we’ve last heard from Canadian indie rock stars Metric.
If you check out their website there’s a nice little letter letting you know what’s up. Get excited, because the new record is finished and will be released early next year! In the beautifully directed video that you can find alongside the letter, my girl crush, Emily Haines, tells of her trip to Buenas Aires and writing the new record. You can hear their new single “Help, I’m Alive” from the upcoming record in the background of the video or go here (yay for Youtube)! It reminds me of their older Grow Up And Blow Away stuff, which I love.
In December Metric will commence their ‘Help, I’m Alive’ Tour alongside Jingle Bell Rock, (meaning there will be proceeds from the tour going to local charities). Metric will be touring with other Canadian acts Sebastian Grainger and the Mountains; fun-sters, Tokyo Police Club; and those cool cats, The Dears. A great show, indeed.
Check the dates!
December 13 - Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy
December 15 - Winnipeg, MB @ Burton Cummings Theatre
December 16 - Saskatoon, SK @ Sask Prarieland Ex & Trade
December 17 - Edmonton, AB @ Shaw Conference Centre

I really wish I could go but I’ll be checking out their Arts and Crafts amigos, Stars on their Toronto 13th date at the Queen Elizabeth Theater (which I’m still stoked for none the less).
