We get it, MGMT are a bunch of weirdos. That’s why we love them so much. But even we were a little taken aback a few weeks ago when we saw the band’s performance on Letterman — remember that?
Well, the band returned to the late night stage again, this time performing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Instead of an oversized cowbell, the band opted to dress up in scuba gear as they did a trippy rendition of Plenty of Girls in the Sea (off of their new album MGMT, out September 17th) — okay, a little literal, but we’ll take it!

The scaled the weirdness back — just a little — for this web exclusive performance of Alien Days, though. All lead singer Andrew Vanwyngarden does is suck in a bunch of helium before singing. That’s all.Tweet
